CORNEAL TRANSPLANTATION
The cornea is our eye’s window to the world. Therefore, if the cornea is damaged, vision function is lost. Successful results are obtained in corneal transplant surgeries in which damaged corneal tissue is replaced with healthy donor corneal tissue.
The cornea, also known as the transparent layer of the eye, is a tissue with an average thickness of half a millimeter. Due to some congenital or later diseases, the cornea may become cloudy or lose its structural integrity by examining it. In such cases, the damaged corneal tissue is replaced with transparent and healthy corneal tissue.
